The Need for Numbers

We crave objectivity. Whether it’s in our personal or professional lives, numbers don’t lie. This is why so many business owners refuse to look closely at their finances, why many adults won’t balance their checkbook, and the reason some people hate math so much. There’s a right answer, which in many cases, can rob us of personal choice.

Numbers & Data Matter

It is a rare thing to see numbers and objectivity applied to a subjective field like martial arts. Even a well-done research project like Louis Martin’s piece on combat (available here), received a tremendous amount of disagreement and criticism because some people were unable to separate their personal biases from reality that the numbers objectively provided.

When it comes to running a martial arts program (school, club, etc) there are a few numbers you need to pay attention to. Your finances, your enrollment and your prospects are the core numbers I’d expect even the most basic program to track.  There may be other numbers, depending on how you run your business, but I think those three are key.

But what if you want to know how the broader industry is doing? What if you want to compare your school, and your growth, to other schools?

Well, that becomes much more complicated. And I’ve set out to do something about it.

New – Free, Anonymous, Martial Arts Reporting

What if there was a way to quickly and anonymously report information on your martial arts school and then receive a report showing everyone else’s data? What if that report was simple to understand, arrived in your inbox and was completely free? Well, now it’s a reality.

Introducing whistlekick Report

As with most things at whistlekick, we developed The whistlekick Report because we saw a need. With this method, you don’t need to be a member of an expensive association. You don’t need to feel uncomfortable asking your fellow martial arts schools for their deep, dark secrets. With only a few minutes of everyone’s time, everyone can all find out what’s happening in this industry.

These are numbers we need to know. The better we understand what’s happening with the industry of martial arts as a whole, the better we can react. It’s self-defense for your business, and it’s free, and it’s here.

Check it out at the whistlekick website, and then fill out the free, anonymous survey on Survey Monkey.
