Martial Arts Movies March Madness – Let The Voting Begin!

Time To Determine The Sweet Sixteen

Last week, Jeremy Lesniak introduced our Martial Arts Movies March Madness plans to have you, the readers, determine what the best martial arts movie of all time is. To recap for you, we asked you to nominate your favorite martial arts movies of all time. And boy, did you! You blew us away with your responses. Whether right here at Martial Journal or on our facebook page, the response was amazing. Thank you!

Now What?

Well, now that we have all of those responses, we must now determine the top 16 movies from the list so that we can seed them into a bracket. Who will determine that? You guessed it: You. We are asking you to choose your top 16 martial arts movies from this list. The poll will be open until March 17th. So after you have voted for your top 16 below, make sure to share this post so everyone you know gets a chance to vote as well.

The Bracket

Once the top 16 are determined, they will be seeded into a single-elimination bracket tournament. The setup will be straight forward. The number one seed will play the sixteenth seed, the two seed will play the fifteenth seed, and so on. Additionally, the number one seed can only face the two seed if they both make it to the finals.

March Madness Is All About The Matchups

Each matchup will be a unique post here on Martial Journal. In that post, you will find a full movie review for both movies in the matchup. The movies will individually be reviewed by one of the writers at Martial Journal and will cover the things that matter in these movies: story, cinematography, acting, flow, and last but definitely not least, martial arts choreography! However, regardless of what the overall rating each movie reviewed gets, you still have the power to determine which one will move on. Each matchup will have it’s own poll so that you can vote on your favorite from that matchup.

Each week will see a new set of matchups as the voting closes and the bracket advances. Eventually, we will be able to determine, with your help, the best martial arts movie of all time!
